Sexual Assault, People Egged in Norton Police Log: Oct. 31 - Nov. 2

Wednesday, Oct. 31
2:36 a.m.: Foster Drive, vandalism. Sergeant Desfosses reports smashed mailbox. Also reports smashed pumpkins.
3:30 a.m.: E. Main/Holmes Street, traffic control. Sergeant Desfosses reports off with a tree crew blocking roadway. Advised crew to get off the roadway, traffic was going on both sides of them.  East Main Street will be closed for a short time. No vehicles over 13 feet allowed down 123.
3:43 a.m.: Burt Street, vandalism. Sergeant Desfosses reports several trash barrels knocked over area of Tipping Place, appears to be vandalism.
5:19 a.m.: Oak Street, animal incident. Caller reports she is missing one of her horses.  Will call if she locates. Call back from owner horse has been located.
7:29 a.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Multiple callers reporting motor vehicle accident by North and South Washington Street. Transport to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
1:17 p.m.: Dean Street, assault. Caller reports she was just assaulted by a female. Mutual combatant claim. Both parties advised, report taken.
4:01 p.m.: W. Main Street, domestic disturbance.
6:02 p.m.: Old Dean Street, harassment/threats. Reporting party into station reporting harassment of her boyfriends ex wife. Advised of options.
6:55 p.m.: Taunton Avenue, motor vehicle accident. More than $1,000 in damage. Deer has left on its own as well as the vehicle.

Thursday, Nov. 1
2:35 a.m.: E. Main Street, suspicious condition. Patrolman Cota reports off in front of police station with a female walking. Cota requests a rescue. Transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
6:59 a.m.: Barrows Street, vandalism. Caller reports her and a neighbor’s mailbox were smashed last night
10:07 a.m.: Plain Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports seeing a needle on the side of the road, sitting on the leaves. Patrolman Chmielinski reports he has item and will be heading into the station.
11:05 a.m.: W. Main Street, general disturbance. Vice principal reports a fight between two students, they have both walked out of school. Vice principal is concerned this issue is not over and will re-ignite. Units advised. Patrolman Robichaud off with the male at Dunkin Donuts, his mother is enroute to get him. Mother on scene, they will be returning to the principal's office
11:33 a.m.: Parker Street, vandalism. Items processed.
12:38 p.m.: Garrett Drive, trespassing. Patrolman Gariepy with walk-in reporting she is rescinding the notice of trespass.
5:12 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, domestic disturbance.

Friday, Nov. 2
3:11 a.m.: Filmore Drive, sex offense. Wheaton Public Safety reports sexual assault victim in the parking lot near the HAAS center, requesting rescue. Sergeant Goodwin and Patrolman Winters en route.  Mansfield mutual aid rescue en route.  
6:45 a.m.: E. Main Street, animal incident. Caller reported someone just hit a deer in the road in the area of Bernie & Phyl's. Area search negative
6:51 a.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident.
7:36 a.m.: John Scott Boulevard, animal incident. Caller reports deer on the front lawn that was struck by a motor vehicle, it appears to be deceased. Patrolman Winters to pick up the deer at the end of the shift.
9:55 a.m.: Wampum Road, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Caller reports someone took items from her unlocked vehicle overnight.
12:29 p.m.: Charlotte Avenue, vandalism. Walk-in reporting malicious damage by a former tenant. Patrolman Chmielinski reports upon entering the residence, no malicious damage. Everything was removed by the former tenant, but there was some debris in the back yard. The owner was informed to take pictures and document everything and that it was a civil matter. Also Chmielinski reports the building appears structurally unsafe and no one has made repairs for several years. Building inspector also notified.
12:38 p.m.: Freeman Street, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports minor two-car crash with no injuries. Patrolman Mahoney reports damage less than $1,000. Operators have exchanged paperwork.
7:04 p.m.: Dean Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports hearing a very loud crash, but doesn’t see anything outside. Area check negative.
9:20 p.m.: Pine Street, assisted Wheaton Public Safety. Report of youths in a Red Pontiac Grand AM  speeding through campus, throwing eggs at students. Vehicle has pulled into the back yard at 66 Pine Street. Area search.
9:43 p.m.: Mansfield Avenue, motor vehicle accident. Caller reports fender bender at Norton Liquors between a car and a truck. Patrolman Cameron reports damage is less than $1,000 and parties will be exchanging papers.
