Second Offense OUI, Break-ins, and Vehicle in Water

The following information about recent local police incidents was supplied by the Norton Police Department. An arrest and/or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Jan. 18:

1:44 a.m. - Mansfield Avenue

Rosanne M Betts, 30, of 41 New Taunton Avenue was arrested for suspicion of marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and second offense OUI.

4:54 a.m. - Azalea Rd.

A caller reported his vehicle was broken into for the second time in three weeks. The last time a duffel bag and a GPS was taken and this time a jacket was taken. The caller went to the station to file a report.

6:03 p.m. - Bay Rd.

Multiple callers, including a 911 transfer from Easton reported a vehicle was in the water by the Chateau Restaurant. Callers reported the vehicle was about three feet in, not sunk, and the operator was attempting to get out.

Police and rescue officials arrived. One male was treated and transported to Morton Hospital. The vehicle was pulled from the water.

Jan. 19

7:59 a.m. - Azalea Rd.

A caller reported a breaking and entering in to his vehicle the night before. Missing is change, and IPAD, a business ID and a hot spot. A report was filed.

4:10 p.m. - E. Main St.

Police received calls reporting a two-car motor vehicle accident at the corner of Main St. and Elm St. A report was taken and two drivers left on their own power.
