One Hospitalized After Rollover on Reservoir St.

Norton Emergency Officials responded to a rollover accident on Reservoir St. Thursday afternoon, transporting one to the hospital.

The patient, Diane Weathers, 60, of 26 Alder Road, had non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

According to Norton Fire Capt. Alvan Fuller, emergency officials responded to the accident at approximately 2:30 p.m. to find a Ford Explorer on its side with two occupants inside. Fuller said emergency officials gained access through the rear hatch to initiate care and the windshield was removed to extricate one of the occupants.

Police Lt. Todd Jackson said the operator, Dennis Rogers, 53, of 42 Alder Road was able to exit the vehicle on his own. Withers, who was his passenger, was trapped inside the vehicle until firefighters pulled her through the windshield.

Jackson said the Ford Explorer was traveling southbound before exiting the roadway and striking a tree. The cause is under investigation.

Officials said the roadway was closed for approximately 30 minutes.

Two single-car accidents on Oak St. also sent officials to the scene Thursday afternoon. Neither resulted in serious injury, Jackson said.
