Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspects

Today Norton Police made two arrests in connection with the armed robbery that took place Aug. 17.

After the robbery, a warrant was issued out of the Attleboro District Court for a female suspect, Samantha Dixon, 20, of Central Falls, R.I. At approximately 2:20 p.m. today, Norton Police Detectives assisted U.S. Marshals and the Rhode Island State Police in locating the suspect. Dixon was located in Central Falls and was placed under arrest after a motor vehicle stop. Her passenger, Jonathan Torres-Hernand  21, also of Central Falls, was identified as a second suspect in the armed robbery and was also taken into custody. Both suspects are being held in Rhode Island as fugitives from justice and will appear in the Attleboro District Court at a later date.

"The investigation is continuing regarding the third suspect," said Norton Police Lieutenant Todd Jackson.

Both are charged by Norton Police with conspiracy and armed robbery. Torres-Hernand is additionally charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

No one was hurt in the robbery that occurred Saturday.
