Police Arrest 14 for Possession of Alcohol and Seatbelt Violations

All 14 were in the same vehicle.

Ptlm. Rachel Samuelson and Ptlm. Thomas Durden stopped a Blue Toyota Highlander on East Main Street at approximately 12:46 today in the area of the police station for a defective equipment violation. 

The vehicle was operated by Gerald O’Neil, 18, of Charlestown. Officers discovered the vehicle to be overcrowded with a total of 14 occupants. Officers removed all passengers and discovered a large amount of alcohol inside the vehicle. Officers further determined that all occupants of the vehicle were under 21 years of age.

All occupants were placed under arrest and charged with minor in possession of alcohol and seatbelt violations. All were later released and will appear in Attleboro District Court on various arraignment dates. None of the vehicle occupants were from Norton.
