Pick-Up Truck Driver Cited in School Bus Accident

The Norton bus driver was not cited in the accident that sent one 10-year-old to the hospital Tuesday.

Norton Police said Wednesday night that the operator of the pick-up truck that struck a school bus Tuesday afternoon was cited for the crash.

According to a statement by Norton Police, Matthew Audet, 25, of Norton, was cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.

Audet allegedly crossed the center line on S. Worcester St. causing his Ford Pick-up truck to crash and scrape along the side of a school bus filled with 12 Yelle Elementary School students.

The school bus driver was not cited in the accident.

According to the Norton Fire Department, one 10-year-old male was injured in the accident and brought to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
