Norton Police Log: May 19 - 20

The following information was supplied by the Norton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, May 19
3:08 a.m.: S. Worcester Street, harassment/threats. Caller sought advice regarding trespass threats and harassment.
6:28 p.m.: Mansfield Avenue, motor vehicle accident hit and run in a parking lot.
6:42 p.m.: New Taunton Avenue, animal incident. Caller reports an exotic looking bird in the middle of the roadway. It has a gold head, red feathers and a long tail. Area search negative.
8:03 p.m.: Reservoir Street, harassment/threats. Caller reports he has gotten several harassing phone calls on his phone, they are getting very personal. He does not know who's calling. Advised to call phone carrier.
8:20 p.m.: Middlesex Avenue, general disturbance. Caller reports his neighbor’s radio is very loud. He went over to ask him to turn it down and now the neighbor is riding up and down the street with his radio blaring from the car. Requesting an officer. Large group of males located and advised.
8:54 p.m.: King Philip Road, general disturbance. Caller reports group of youths have been drinking all day and are throwing beer cans at his son in his yard, lighting off a potato launcher and have an open fire. They have been advised. Fire was contained to a fire pit.
11:57 p.m.: Old Colony Road, motor vehicle accident. Callers report crash with four injured. Attleboro and Mansfield Rescue enroute. All transported to area hospitals. National Grid contacted to check pole.

Sunday, May 20
1:00 a.m.: King Philip Road, vandalism. Caller reports damage to screens at his residence and canoe tipped over. Vandalism to his neighbor’s residence as well.  3:12 a.m.: Park Lane, domestic disturbance.
10:36 a.m.: Todd Drive, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reports money missing from the residence. This is an internal family issue, no detectives needed.
10:39 a.m.: Park Lane. Police arrested Benjamin C. Lenhart, 20, of Park Lane, and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
10:45 a.m.: Pine Street, animal incident. Caller reports walking her dog and a large bull
dog came out and tried to bite her and her dog. Several cars stopped to help and the owner came out and verbally assaulted her and went back in. Animal Control Officer spoken to and he requested an officer to speak with both the reporting party and the animal owner, he has had issues with the animal owner in the past. No answer at the house.
12:03 p.m.: Fordham Drive, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reports he is house sitting for his parents and believes they may have been broken into. Unsure if anything is missing.
1:02 p.m.: King Philip Road, breaking and entering of a residence. Vandalism also done to yards.
Window screens were slashed.
4:25 p.m.: N. Worcester Street, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Cell phone taken out of unlocked car.
