Norton Police Arrest Two for Allegedly Stealing Scrap Metal

Two Norton residents will be appearing in Attleboro District Court Monday for allegedly stealing stolen scrap metal.

Two Norton residents will be in Attleboro District Court Monday after being arrested Saturday for allegedly having stolen scrap metal in their Dodge pick-up.

Saturday at 1:30 p.m., Norton Police Sgt. Jacob Dennett stopped a Dodge pick-up on Freeman Street after he suspected the vehicle to contain stolen scrap metal. 

After an investigation, Sgt. Dennett confirmed with representatives from CPS Technologies, 111 South Worcester St., Norton, that the scrap metal was stolen from that property.

The operator, Timothy Sanson, age 22, of 18 Woodland St., Norton, and the passenger, Rebecca Andrews, 22, of the same address, were both placed under arrest by the Norton police.  

Sanson is being charged with the following: Number plate violation, number plate violation to conceal identity, license not in possession, malicious destruction of property over $250, breaking into a depository (storage container), larceny from a building (container), and possession of burglarious tools Conspiracy to commit a crime.  

Andrews is being charged with: Breaking into a depository (storage container), larceny from a building (container), conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of a class B substance.  

Sanson was held on $10,000 cash bail and Andrews was held on $5,000 cash bail.
