Mansfield Man Dead After Norton Motorcycle Crash

The 52-year-old Mansfield man crashed his motorcycle into a tree on Newland St. Friday night.

A 52-year-old Mansfield man passed away after a motorcycle accident in Norton Friday night.

Norton Police reported Friday night that Daniel Waldon, 52, of Mansfield was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro at approximately 7:15 p.m. Friday when his motorcycle veered off the road on Newland St. near Red Mill Rd. and crashed into a tree. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

There were no other injuries reported in the accident.

Norton Police Liutenant Todd Jackson said in a statement that  Ptlm. James Young was first to the scene and provided first aid while waiting for responders.

The crash is under investigation by Ptlm. Rachel Mailloux, Detective Todd Bramwell, and the Massachusetts Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Jackson said.
