Man Draws Knife on Gas Company Employees

Adam Pedranti charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (knife) and one count of disorderly conduct.

At approximately 10:10 a.m. today, Norton Police responded to 410 S. Worcester Street for a report of a male who threatened two Columbia Gas employees with a knife.

Officers were able to locate and speak with the suspect, Adam Pedranti, 37, of 410 S. Worcester Street. Officers placed Pedranti under arrest at the scene.  Officers discovered that Pedranti had threatened the workers with a knife because he thought they were going to shut off the gas to the residence. After threatening the workers, he went back into his residence. He was inside the residence when police arrived.

A witness said officers drew their weapons on the suspect, but Norton Police Leiutenant Todd Jackson said he could not confirm this, adding the suspect was not threatening police.
