'Jaws of Life' Used For Four-Car Crash in Norton

The four-car crash was one of four Thursday afternoon and evening.

Norton emergency officials were hard at work Thursday.

According to Norton Police Lt. Todd Jackson, the fire and police departments responded to a total of four motor vehicle crashes between the afternoon and evening and the jaws of life were used for one four-car crash.

The four-car crash occurred on the corner of West Main St. and Freeman St. at 5:30 p.m., resulting in the closing of W. Main St. for 30 minutes. Three were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The first accident of the afternoon occurred at 2:45 p.m. at West Main and Oak St. The two-car crash resulted in the transport of one person to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Jackson said.

The second accident, at 5 p.m. on Mansfield Ave. and Reservoir St. resulted in no injuries and another accident at E. Main St. at 7 p.m. resulted in no injuries.
