Hit and Run, Pellet Stove Fire and Large Blast

The following information about recent local police incidents was supplied by the Norton Police Department. An arrest and/or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 26:

6:47 p.m. Bay Rd.

A caller reported a pick-up truck with a cap slid off the roadway causing property damage to her fence. The caller reported the vehicle left the area heading down Plain St.

Officers checked the area and a search was negative. Three feet of fence was taken down and the area was reported as very slick.

Dec. 27

8:34 p.m. - Briggs St.

A caller reported receiving a call from her daughter who stated there was smoke in the house. She told the daughter to get out of the house.

Police and fire officials responded. Smoke was reported throughout the house. Command reported a misfire in the pellet stove. It has been cleaned and smoke was evacuated. The homeowner was advised.

Dec. 28

7:40 p.m. - Briggs St.

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle driving up and down the street. Police responded and the area checked negative.

Dec. 29

12:18 a.m. - N. Worcester St.

Police received a call reporting a large shotgun blast. Police reported they heard it and it sounded like a large firework. Police report there appears to be a party at N. Worcester and it may have come from there.
