Five Put in Protective Custody and One Arrested at Deutsche Bank Championship

Norton Police were busy at TPC Boston on Labor Day Weekend.

Labor Day Weekend's Deutsche Bank Championship brought visitors from far and wide to Norton to watch some of the world's best golfers do what they do best.

But, while Henrik Stenson was busy winning the annual tournament, Norton Police were busy providing crowd control and sometimes bringing rowdy fans to the Norton Police Station.

The event resulted in five fans finding themselves in "Protective Custody" and one more finding himself under arrest.

The Tiger Woods Foundation sent a Thank-You letter to the Town of Norton for its efforts in running the event, Board of Selectmen Chair Robert Kimball said last week.

Kimball also relayed a letter to the Board received from a woman expressing her gratitude to Norton emergency workers during the event for their efforts in finding her elderly relative with dementia.
