Breaking and Entering in Norton Police Log: Nov. 5 - 6

The following information was supplied by Norton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 5
7:30 a.m.: W. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Car versus bus.
9:18 a.m.: Norton Glen Road, recovered stolen motor vehicle. Sergeant Dennett reports vehicle reported stolen yesterday has been located and removed from the system.
9:20 a.m.: Bay Road, Easton, fraud/embezzlement. Sergeant Dennett reports he spoke to a female on the phone regarding a fraud incident. She was advised of her options and will be coming in to fill out a voluntary statement. She will go to court to pursue criminal charges.
9:26 a.m.: Downing Drive, vandalism. Caller reports mailbox at above was smashed overnight. It also appears as others on the street have also been vandalized.
12:31 p.m.: Pleasant Street, breaking and entering of a resident. Caller reports he heard noise from above abandoned residence and believes that someone broke in to steal copper pipes. He reports there is water in the basement. He reports he heard noise going out the back, but didn't see anyone. Lieutenant Petersen reports two suspects possibly left on foot out the back, no vehicle description given. Area check negative.
4:41 p.m.: Rock Lane, general disturbance. Caller reports approximately six or seven males about 17 to 18 years old who are physically fighting in front of his residence. Patrolman Winters and Patrolman Cota enroute. Gone on arrival per Winters, possibly a black malibu involved. Area check negative.
5:58 p.m.: N. Washington Street, animal incident. Caller reports his dog was struck and killed. Would like it logged hit and run. Did not see the motor vehicle.
7:53 p.m.: W. Main Street, suspicious condition. Possible drug activity to the rear of the building. Vehicle is silver sedan parked in the back corner. Patrolman Cota off with vehicle.

Tuesday, Nov. 6
7:12 a.m.: Washington Street. Police arrested Mayra Velasquez, 30, of Dorchester Ave., Providence, R.I., and charged her with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.
12:23 p.m.: E. Hodges Street, breaking and entering of a residence. Caller reports arriving home after being gone for an hour and saw a breaking and entering into a residence. Door smashed, TV missing. Area canvassed.
2:22 p.m.: E. Main Street, motor vehicle accident. Fluid leak taken care of. All occupants denying injury. Standing by for parent of minor. All vehicles removed.
3:35 p.m.: Cobb Street, general disturbance. Caller reports seeing a male party throw a female to the ground. She believes they are still on the property, but she can no longer see them. Sergeant Dennett reports nobody in the area.
5:27 p.m.: Old Colony Road, animal incident. Caller reports she struck a deer, unsure if it is still alive. She is not injured. Patrolman Turcotte reports he has found the deer. It is off the roadway and he will have to put it down. Deer leapt into the woods as he exited his cruiser. Turcotte reports less than $1,000 in damages.
7:22 p.m.: S. Worcester Street, suspicious condition. Caller reports hearing gunshots towards Dean and Harvey Streets. Patrolman Turcotte reports area is quiet and checks negative.
