Breaking and Entering, GATRA Bus Hit, and Hit and Run

The following information about recent local police incidents was supplied by the Norton Police Department. An arrest and/or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 14:

6:03 a.m. - Toad Island Rd.

A caller reported that as he pulled up to his residence, there was a green Ford Ranger in his driveway. As he approached it, a male came around from the rear of his house and apologized and said he had to urinate, got in the truck, then left.

The caller reported the male was tall, skinny, in his mid-20's with a scruffy beard and wearing a bathrobe and hat. He reported the front door and the slider were both open, but he did not see anything missing.

Police reported an attempted break-in.

Nov. 15

1:35 p.m. - West Main St.

A GATRA supervisor called to report a bus had been struck from behind and the operator of the second vehicle left the scene. All cars were advised of the vehicle, described as a green Ford Escape. No injuries were reported.

Nov. 16

4 p.m. - Patlena Dr.

A caller reported he was checking on a house and all the copper piping had been ripped out in a B&E incident. A report was taken.


7:29 p.m. - Route 495

State Police notified Norton Police of a hit and run on Rt. 495 North that caused an accident. The suspect likely exited in Norton. Norton PD checked Elm St., the Chateau area, and Wheaton college area. The search was negative.
