Attleboro Man Charged With Attempted Breaking and Entering in Norton

Norton Police arrested a man for allegedly attempting to break into an E. Hodges St. garage.

Norton Police nabbed an Attleboro man Thursday night for attempting to break into a E. Hodges St. garage.

Robert Clark, 24, of James St., Attleboro was charged with attempted breaking and entering and disturbing the peace.

Norton Police Liutenant Todd Jackson said police first received a call from a E. Hodges St. resident at 5:40 a.m. stating she heard her burlgar alarm sounding at her detached garage.

"The caller informed the dispatcher that when she looked outside, she observed a male dressed in black clothing standing in front of the entry door to the garage," Jackson said in a statement. "The caller then informed the dispatcher that the male had fled the area."

Police searched the area, eventually locating Clark, who matched the caller's description. Jackson said Ptlm. Schleicher, Sgt. Stephen Desfosses and Ptlm. Christopher McCarthy all assisted in the investigation.

Clark is expected to appear in Attleboro District Court Friday.
