Halloween is around the corner in about 16 days, and homeowners will be doing that traditional thing of handing out candy to trick or treaters. I went to this website and I compared the Halloween candy brands---Blow Pops, Starbursts, Gummy Bears, Butterfingers, Kit Kats, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Twix Bars, Snickers Bars and Candy Corn. I also went to three stores today---CVS in Taunton, BJ's in Taunton and Walgreens in Norton---and I checked the prices of the brands I found on their websites. Here are the prices:

Blow Pops- Fun pack
CVS- 2 for $6 with CVS card
BJ's- $8.99
Walgreens- $3.19

Starburst- Fun pack
CVS- 2 for $6 with CVS card or $3.99 with no card
BJ's $6.49
Walgreens $2.79

Gummy Bears
CVS- $.88
BJ's $6.29- (The Big Bag of the Black Mountain Gummy Bears is the one that I saw)
Walgreens $1.19 (The Haribo Brand)

Butterfingers- Fun pack
CVS- $3.99
BJ's- $11.99
Walgreens- $3.49

Kit Kat's- Fun pack

Walgreens- $2.99

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

BJ's- $11.49 (The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup miniatures)
Walgfreens- $6.99

Twix
CVS- $7.49
BJ's- $6.99- (Along with the Snickers, Milky Way and 3 Musketeers in a Chocolate M&M Brand Fun Pack)

Snickers
CVS- 2 for $6 with Card
Walgreens- $3.49

Candy Corn
CVS- $1.19 (the CVS Gold Emblem brand)
Walgreens- $2 for $3- (the Brach's brand)

While I was at BJ's researching the Halloween candy prices, I also trotted over to the meat section and found the lowest price of meats:
Beef roast $9.59
Ground beef $9.62
Pork $5.88
Ground beef $4.98
Chicken breast $9.33
Ground turkey $7.32
Whole turkey $8.99
Whole ham- $20.15
Lamp- $5.99

I found the price of toothpastes and compared the toothpastes that people get in bulks to brands that are purchased in single packages at pharmacies. The toothpaste I used in my survey is 16oz.
BJ's
Crest 4-pack at $8.59- and i divided the price by 4 and it comes to $2.15 a pack
Colgate 5-pack at $8.49- $1.70 a pack
Aquafresh 4-pack at $6.49- $1.62 a pack
Sensodyne 3-pack at $16.99- $5.66 a pack
Arm and Hammer- 3 pack at $7.99- $2.66 a pack

This afternoon I went over to CVS, Haskin's Pharmacy and Walgreens all in Norton and I compared to prices there compared at BJ's

CREST
Walgreens $3.24
Haskin's $2.95
CVS $2.99

COLGATE
Walgreens $3.79

Haskin's $6.47
CVS $6.29

ARM AND HAMMER

And there you have it; the prices of Halloween candy, meat and toothpaste brands at local stores. I hope you find it very helpful as you make your decisions.
