A big turnout came out to Norton High School to attend the 2014 Norton Spring Town Meeting at the renovated Norton High School Auditorium and Kevin O’Neill, the NHS building site committee led the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and it started off with Article 2 by the funds to be allotted by the construction, reconstruction and improvements of town roads and it passed article 3 lost due to no vote and Article 4 for the transfer on available funds of a sum of free cash fund and it passed unanimously and Article 5 is the Water and Sewer Commissioners on the Norton Center sewer extension project within all portions of Fillmore Drive on Wheaton College Campus and serve the town and Article 5 motion passed unanimously and also the town center needed a pump station and forced the main to be critical to the sewer plans for Norton and the project can move forward with formation of district and agreement for Norton and Wheaton finalized and work on East Main Street for reconstruction and adding Wheaton flows with help from moderate sewer rates going forward and the project will be completed in August 2016 and Wheaton will have to address that of the sewer project as the Weston and Sampson should be working to the drainage and it will be a game plan on the sewer repairs and also side road repairs off route 123 and also they are making the sewer enterprise work and Wheaton is paying fees for the sewer and Article 5 approved by 2/3 vote and Article 6 of a planning design of a waste treatment plant to treat water from Wells 4,5 and 6 to be located off Plain Street near Lake Winnecunnet and it will begin construction in April 2015 and will be completed in November 2016 and the project costs is $8.9 million and the billing frequency will be quarterly and it is filtration of wells 4, 5 and 6 to remove the iron and manganese from the drinking water  and Articles 6 passed by 2/3 majority vote and Article 7 on the repair of the Norton School Committee as it acknowledged the MSBA grant program ion repairing the roof of the Norton Middle School and it passed by moderate vote  and it went on to the special town meeting began and Article 1 transferred the amount of $300.58 to be transferred to free cash and Article 1 passed unanimously and Article 2 is transferring the free cash supplements and Article 2 passed unanimously and Articles 3 and 4 and 5 declared lost with no vote and Article 8 of the Water Pollution Abatement trust and Article 8 passed majority vote and Article 9 on funds for Hazardous Waste Collection day and it passed unanimously and Article 10 passed by vote and Article 11 to raise funds for Triennial Revolution and recessed by an unanimous vote and Article 12 on the 40B housing funds passed by majority vote and Article 13 on the Water Enterprise funds and it passed by unanimous vote and article 14 of the sewer enterprise and it passed by unanimous vote and article 15 lost due to no vote and Article 16 passed unanimously and Article 17 to fund the FY15 operating budget for $1,359,700 and Dr. Baeta discussed the budget of the school department and Article 17 passed unanimously and Article 18 by adding some Article XXI large scale ground mounted solar photo voltaic installation and Article 18 passed an unanimous vote and Articles 19 and 20 lost due to a lack of vote.
