Norton Patch VIP of the Week: Adam Pellerin

Norton resident makes career as Fox 25 news reporter.

Fox 25 news reporter Adam Pellerin is a familiar face, not just to Norton locals, but to a broad television audience. Pellerin, who grew up in Norton, joined Fox 25 News in September 2007. Prior to coming to Fox25, Pellerin worked for the CBS affiliate in Portland, ME. He was a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor. He went on to cover news in Portland and wrote and produced several feature stories.

Pellerin played football, basketball and baseball at . He majored in communications at Suffolk University and played baseball in college as a catcher for a team that was nationally ranked.

Pellerin likes the diversity of his job.

“It’s something new every day,” he said. “It’s an honor to tell people’s stories. If the news of the day is a sports story, I usually get that assignment. I love news and sports both. If I had to choose one or the other, I’d choose news.

Pellerin, who now lives in Foxborough, also said that the economy and the Whitey Bulger story are hot topics, but there are stories that surprise him, such as the story of a 70-year old woman who confronted a burglar with her 96-year old mother in the house.

“I do my homework,” he said. “Any information I can gather I do. I make sure I have all the facts.”

He said that he hears from people he hasn’t seen for awhile who see him on television, mostly through his Facebook page.

“It’s great to be part of a news organization I grew up watching.”
