Trent to be Buried in Arlington National Cemetery Thursday

Local service for fallen U.S. Master Sergeant to be held in near future.

United States Master Sergeant Gregory Trent, who died from combat wounds he received in Afghanistan, will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery Thursday, Aug. 23 at 3 p.m.

A local memorial service will be held in the near future. Governor Deval Patrick has ordered that the United State flag and Commonwealth Flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise to sunset to honor him on Thursday.

Trent, of Norton, died Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Maryland after his unit was attacked in Baktabad, according to the Department of Defense. He was 38.

Trent was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group in Fort Bragg, N.C.
