Obituary: Maureen A. Bileau

Maureen Bileau, 68, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away Oct. 15, 2012.

Maureen A. (McGrath) Bileau, 68, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away Oct. 15, 2012 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

She was the wife of Normand G. Bileau.

Born in Attleboro on Jan. 30, 1944, she was daughter of the late Francis J. “Frank” and Mabel T. (Duffy) McGrath.

Maureen grew up and was educated in Norton, and was a 1962 graduate of Norton High School. Prior to retiring, she worked at the Sinclair Manufacturing Co. in Norton. She retired as a press department supervisor following 28 years of faithful service.

A lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton, she was wed to her husband Normand June 1, 1963.

Maureen enjoyed gardening, bird feeding and caring for animals. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, She vacationed many times in Bermuda and enjoyed local trips to Plymouth and the beautiful beaches of Manomet. Maureen's favorite times spent were those in the presence of her loving family, especially with her grandchildren.

She will always be remembered for her cooking skills and the joy she received during the Christmas season, making wreaths for both family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband of 49 years, Maureen is survived by her children David G. Bileau of Maine, Lori A. Blanchard and her husband Barry of Attleboro, Rebecca A. Pike and her husband Jon of Attleboro and Holly A. Mendonca and her husband Dan of Dighton; her sister Linda M. Capachin and her husband James of Pascoag, R.I.; her grandchildren, Adam and Ashley Blanchard, Stephen and Victoria Pike and Tyler Mendonca; her great-grandson Kyle Ducharme; her sister-in-law Cheryl McGrath of Mansfield; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald M. McGrath.

Services will be held privately. Visiting hours have been omitted. Those wishing, may remember Maureen with a donation made in her memory to the Norton Animal Shelter, 84 Hill St., Norton, MA 02766. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., Norton.
