Obituary: Mark D. Switzer

Mark D. Switzer, 46, of Norton, formerly of Easton, died unexpectedly Nov. 19, 2012, at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I.

He was the husband of Maura A. (Soares) Switzer.

Born in Brockton, Mr. Switzer was raised and educated in Easton and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School in Easton. He also was a graduate of Bridgewater State College, Class of 1989. He was a longtime resident of Norton.

He worked as the food service director for Easton Lincoln Nursing Home in Easton for several years and also worked at Fridays and Friendly's in Mansfield. Primarily, he worked as a stay at home father with his children. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Norton. He could always be counted on for a helping hand or a spirited conversation.

Mr. Switzer leaves his children Dominic J., Charles M., Hayden J. and Max D. Switzer all of Norton; his parents Elizabeth A. (Tucker) Switzer and Donald L. Switzer of Easton; his siblings David L. of Easton, Michael J. of Franklin and Jane M. Martin of New Hampshire; and his many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., Stoughton  Saturday, Nov. 24, at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 1 Power St., Norton at 10 a.m. Visiting Hours 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Interment will take place at Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
