Obituary: Jane A. Logan

Former Wheaton College student died Oct. 9, 2012.

Jane A. Logan, 90, died Oct. 9, 2012 after a prolonged illness.

Mrs. Logan lived in Highland Park for more than 60 years and was married for 69 years.

She helped manage the Alcove at Highland Park Hospital in the 1960s. When Highland Park was designated an 'All American' city and was commended for its civic volunteers in the 1960s, the mayor publicly praised Mrs. Logan's community service as a role model.

Mrs. Logan was a lifelong member of Lake Shore Country Club and contributed actively to Chicago area charities. She attended the Friday afternoon Chicago Symphony concerts at Orchestra Hall for more than eight decades. Mrs. Logan grew up in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.

She graduated from Faulkner School and attended Wheaton College. She relished her many friends and family, as well as coffee chip ice cream.

She is survived by her sons Paul A. Logan (Marie) of S. Pasadena, Calif. and Robert A. Logan of Rockville, MD.; her grandchildren Katherine Logan of S. Pasadena, Calif. and William Logan (Arti Rana) of San Diego, Calif.; and her nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert I. Logan, who died Dec. 1, 2011.

The family requests any contributions should be sent to the Chicago Botanic Garden or the Ravinia Festival. Arrangements by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel.
