Donald C. Thomas, 90, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Mr. Thomas was the husband of the late Virginia (Wegeler) Thomas. Born and raised in Roxbury, he was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School.
Donald was a longtime resident of Stoughton. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a patrolman for the Boston Police Department for over 40 years. After his retirement, he worked in the Distribution Warehouse for Reebok in Stoughton for over 15 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Boston Police Patrolmans Union.
He is survived by his children George C. Thomas of Canton, Donna J. Thomas of Stoughton, Timothy J. Thomas of Whitman and Robin T. Haygood of Norton; his nine grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter Patricia Wakley, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral prayers are offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., Stoughton, Saturday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours were Friday from 5-8 p.m. Interment at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Donalds memory may be made to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
