Remembering John. W. Wiggins

John W. Wiggins, age 66, of Norton passed away peacefully, in the presence of his loving family, on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Lexington, MA on November 19, 1947, he was a loving son of the late John “Jack” Wiggins and the late Phyllis (McKey) Williams.

John grew up in Norton and was a graduate of Norton High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War, prior to being honorably discharged.

Mr. Wiggins was a retired car salesman having worked at Tom Chevrolet in Norwood and formerly at Jack Madden Ford, also located in Norwood. In the 1980’s he worked in insurance sales and had previously begun his career in the automotive industry as a mechanic at Jack Madden Ford.

John had made his home in Norton for many years and had also resided at one time in South Attleboro. His hobbies included time spent on the computer, working on cars, boating, water skiing and signing karaoke.

He is survived by his devoted children, Regina W. “Gina” Smith and her husband Charles of Carlisle, PA, Dale C. Wiggins and his wife Kristine of North Billerica and Stephanie Wiggins of Dunedin, Florida. He was the loving longtime companion of 25 years to Bonnie Nadeau of Taunton. He was the dear brother of Noel Wiggins of Southbury, CT, Sandee Koontz of San Diego, CA and Peter Wiggins of Norton. He is also survived by his cherished grandsons, Christopher Smith and Benjamin Smith as well as his former wives Mary (English) Wiggins of Florida and Helen (Wheeler) Hammond of South Carolina.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Sunday, January 5th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St.(Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be private.
