Remembering Alda L. (Zeller) Milliken

Ada L. (Zeller) Milliken, age 99, of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Franklin L. Milliken who died on May 11,1966.

Born in Walpole, MA on August 1, 1914, she was a loving daughter of the late Frederick and Martha (Ladd) Zeller. She was educated in Walpole, Taunton and Mansfield schools and was a 1931 graduate of Walpole High School.

Prior to retiring in 1999, Mrs. Milliken served for 20 years as the Assistant Director for the Mansfield Council on Aging . She had previously been employed for 32 as a secretary to the late Dr. Anthony Gasson of Mansfield.

Ada was a longtime member of the Congregational Church of Mansfield where she had also formerly served as a clerk. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past 90 years.

Throughout her life she touched the hearts of so many Mansfield Seniors she helped and also enjoyed accompanying them on trips. Ada will always be remembered for her gracious ways and fashionable nature, and will be especially missed by her adoring family.

She was the devoted mother of Beatrice Knowles and her husband Beryl of Mansfield and the late Margery King. She was the dear sister of Elmer L. Zeller of Wrentham and the late Wallace Zeller. She was the cherished grandmother of Laurie Chace of North Attleboro, Ronald King, Paul King, Kathy Risotti and David Knowles all of Mansfield and Jon Knowles of Johnston, RI. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Ryan King, Courtney Chace, Nicole Chace, Tyler Risotti and Austin Risotti.

Funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Private burial will take place in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday morning prior to the services from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
