Chester Cekaka Sr.

Chester Cekala Sr. 81, the founder and former president of the family-owned Willow Tree Poultry in Attleboro and a resident of North Attleboro and East Falmouth, died January 12, 2013.  He was cherished husband and best friend of Eileen R. (Polefka) Cekala to whom he would have joyfully celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 21. His was father of two caring sons: Chester Cekala, Jr. and his wife, Carol L. (Raleigh) Cekala, of Weston and Walter Cekala and his wife, Lynda P. (Van Dusen) Cekala, of North Attleboro, grandfather of six adored grandchildren: Allison, Christopher, Alexander, Nicholas, Samuel and Andrew Cekala, great grandfather of a loved great grandchild: Ava. He also leaves several extended family members and dear friends. Mr. Cekala was predeceased by his loving sisters Gladys Gorskoski and Helen Hogan and his granddaughter Julia Cekala. Visitation was in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. The funeral Service was on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly K. Thibeault, Pastor of the First Congregational Church, Old Post Road, North Attleboro, officiating. Burial was in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Julia Cekala Charitable Foundation, PO Box 1070, North Attleboro, MA 02761 or to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163-4777.

Gail S. Binmore, age 53, of Mansfield, passed away Jan. 8, 2013 while on vacation in Mexico with her friend . Gail grew up and was educated in Canada. A resident of Mansfield for the past 22 years, her working career involved a long history of working for technology companies. She had most recently been employed as an Account Executive for SAP America and had previously worked at the Oracle Corporation. For the full obituary click here.

Barbara Germaine
Barbara A. Germaine, age 75, died Jan. 9, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She has been a resident of Plainville for the past two years and was a former longtime resident of Foxborough. Barbara was the Collector/Treasurer for the Town of Foxborough for over 23 years. In 1995 her dual functions as Collector/Treasurer were changed to the appointed position of Revenue Officer, which she held until her retirement in October, 2000. During her tenure, Barbara was Secretary of the Norfolk County Municipal Finance Officers for 20 years. For the full obituary click here.

William Inglis
William T. Inglis, 79 of Easton, formerly of Brockton, died Jan. 13, 2013. He was honorably discharged by the United States Army in 1959. He retired from John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in July of 1994 as a Systems Analyst after more than 40 years of service. For the full obituary click here.

Robert Falke
Robert F. Falke, age 85, of Norton, formerly of Attleboro, passed away Jan. 12, 2013. Bob grew up and was educated in Attleboro. He served his country first as a member of the Merchant Marines and was later honorably discharged from the United States Navy following faithful service during WWII. A resident of Norton for the past 57 years, Mr. Falke was a retired slitter having worked for over 40 years at Fortifiber in Attleboro prior to retiring in 1990. For the full obituary click here.

Richard Grassley
Richard F. Grassley, 75, of East Providence, formerly of Seekonk, MA died Thursday, January 10, 2013. He joined the US Navy and began boxing during his time there. He continued boxing professionally after the Navy, and succeeded in matches all over the US. Richard started Grassley Roofing Company in 1960, succeeding over the years mostly in the Providence area, specializing in repairing slate roofs. For the full obituary click here.

Robert Fontaine
Robert E. Fontaine, 77 of South Attleboro, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and enjoyed cooking, woodworking, classic movies, history, and traveling. He and his wife spent winters in Florida for many years. A 1963 graduate of Bryant College, he spent most of his career as an engineer in the jewelry industry, most recently for 20 years as Chief Industrial Engineer at Leach & Garner Co. in Attleboro, MA, before retiring in 1993. Jeanne Garin
Jeanne Marie Garin, 86, of Plainville, formerly of Jamaica Plain and Everett, died Jan. 9, 2013, in Attleboro. Prior to retirement several years ago, Ms. Garin had been a Social Worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was active with the Parishes of St. Martha in Plainville, and St. Mary in Wrentham. For the full obituary click here.
