How Does it Feel Being Married?

Did you feel different when you got hitched?

One of the first things most people I know asked me when I returned from my honeymoon was "How does it feel being married?" The answer is, pretty much the same.

As mentioned in previous blog posts, Sean and I have known each other since 2002. That is a long time. We have also lived with each other for about three years. By now we have grown accustomed to each other's strengths, quirks and flaws. I know that he bites his fingernails whenever he is focused on a television show or movie. He knows that he's a way better cook than I am. We love each other anyway.

The only things that are different are the terms "husband," "wife" and Mrs. Brodeur. Now whenever someone calls me that, he says "I didn't know my mom was here!" And for my new husband, having a ring around his finger is very different.

The way we feel about each other, however, is still very much the same. And here's hoping that never changes.
