Wedding Adventures: Crunch Time

Crunches, squats and lunges, oh my!

With just under a year to go until our wedding, my fiance and I have booked Robin from Classic Photographers. Now it's crunch time...literally.

We been working our tails off to look good in those photos when the big day comes. After about four months, Sean has lost about 40 lbs, and made his goal weight. I'm slowly trecking along with a weight loss of 25 lbs. In my fantasy world, I will weigh about 110 lbs. But I'll be happy with 125 lbs, which means I still have 13.5 to go.

To help reach our goals, we kept it simple; we go to the gym and count our calories. Granted, I've been a little more lax about the later the past month or so, but I have a basic idea of what I'm eating, calorie-wise. We've also made a conscious effort to eat more organic foods. While it's tough on the wallet, it's great for the body. I feel more energetic and healthy, plus less guilty about contributing to mistreatment of animals.

I've also been seeing a trainer once a week at Gold's Gym in Norton. For all those who need a good kick in the pants, I highly recommend Sarah Leclerc. You can count on her to work with your schedule and give a workout tailored to your needs.

My problem area are my butt and thighs. It's just my genetic makeup. I come from a long line of 'fat bottomed girls.' My mother calls it the "Medeiros Curse." I can get down to my goal weight and still look disproportionate. For this reason, a lot of my workouts include lunges and squats...you know...things I dread.

Now I'm looking for different ways to shed those last few pounds. I need to mix it up.
