Track Teams blast Medway at first dual meet

With the biggest margin of victory in program history, the Lancer boys track team opened the season with a very strong win beating Medway 125-11!

Kevin O'Leary lead the way with a league leading javelin throw of 155'9", won shot put and placed 2nd overall in the 100 meters.
Brandon Durocher (winner of the high jump, 2nd 400 hurdles, 2nd 110 hurdles), Mike Tierney (winner of the 400 hurdles and 400 meters, and 3rd in the high jump), Justin Ireland (winner of the 100 and 200 meters, and 3rd in the long jump), and Cam Stalters (winner of the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.1, 2nd in the javelin, and 2nd in the discus) all scored 11 points for the Lancers!
Zach Sicard won the long jump and placed second in the triple, while Josh Kelleher took first in the triple and second in the long jump, 
Billy Sullivan won the mile, Max Marcotte 800 meters and
Paul Schleicher won the discus with a PR of 135'10" 

In all, 11 athletes and 2 relays qualified for states in the first meet of the season, an incredible feat! 
  
Norton Girls won 103 to 33 and showed their depth by seeing many Freshmen placing in the top three places in many events.  Freshmen Bella Berardi won the 200 and 400, Brooke Williams 100m, and Cambryn Bowman took third in 100,200 and long jump. Jr. Kassidy Campbell won Long jump,100 and 400 hurdles, Amy Pereira shot put, Danielle Whitman high jump, Ashley Pelletier Javelin, Shannon O'Rourke discus, Corrine Jursyk 2 mile and Anya DiLorenzo first in the mile

Many athletes qualified for states in their opener meet also.
Norton hosts the Dover-Sherborn Raiders in their home opener this coming Wednesday at 3:30pm.  All are welcome
