Vacation Week at Oak Knoll Wildlife Sanctuary featuring the National Marine Life Center

Join us at Oak Knoll for a special guest presenter from the National Marine Life Center to learn about marine animal strandings. How do you take care of an injured seal or a sick sea turtle?  Participants will learn how the animals are cared for after they are found, what measures are taken to get them healthy and how they are released back into nature. This is a hands-on interactive educational program.

The National Marine Life Center is located in Buzzards Bay. The NMLC is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) rehabilitation and release hospital for the treatment of stranded sea turtles and seals, with future plans to expand to treat dolphins, porpoises, and small whales.  Their emphasis is to educate the public about the needs and status of these important animals and their environment, and to research their health needs and threats in captivity and in the wild.

Registration is required. Register online or call 508-223-3060 to register by phone.
Audience: Children (5-12yrs)
Members Fee: $15            NonMembers: $18
