Estate Planning: An Opportunity To Make 2012 Count
FREE Living Trust Planning Forum

Dramatic changes in estate planning law are anticipated for 2013. There are steps you can take now to begin your lifetime planning to protect your funds, your family, and your future. "Living trusts provide many advantages over wills, and when people learn of these advantages, they almost always choose a living trust for their estate planning," says presenter Robert Deschene.
With a last will and testament, the probate court takes control of your assets, and after inevitable court delays, eventually distributes what remains (after taxes, court fees, and administrative expenses) to your family. All of this private family business becomes part of the public record. Deschene notes, "Why would anyone choose to burden the family with more stress if there is a better, more flexible approach that protects your legacy?"
A living trust no only avoids the inconvenience and intrusions of probate, it allows a trusted family member immediately to manage your assets if you die, or even if you become incapacitated. It immediately protects the property you leave to your family from being lost through remarriage, creditor lawsuits, divorce, bankruptcy, or your family member’s spendthrift ways. Unlike a will, a living trust ensures that the hard-earned assets that you leave behind for your loved ones are used for the purposes you intended, and stay in your family for generations to come.
