Norton Artist Donates Watercolor to be Raffled Off for Museum

Alyce Crowell, a Norton resident and local prize winning water color artist, recently donated a wonderful new framed watercolor painting of the Hornbine School for the school museum to auction off at the Carpenter Museum’s Silent Auction on Sept. 27 in Rehoboth. Proceeds will benefit both museums.

Crowell, who retired as a second grade teacher from Palmer River School in Rehoboth several years ago, has a passion for watercolor painting.

The Hornbine School is a one-room school museum. It was built about 160 years ago. It remains nestled between the original stone walls on the corner of Hornbine and Baker Roads at its initial location.
