Get Out: A Guide to Weekend Fun

Activities and entertainment options for the family in town and within driving distance this weekend.

It's almost Friday...time to start thinking about the weekend. Locally, there are plenty of options within driving distance for some weekend fun.

ANNUAL PLAINVILLE PTO FUN FAIR

Where/When: 68 Messenger St, Plainville, MA (Jackson School); Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What is it? All are invited to have a day of fun at the annual Plainville PTO Fun Fair.  This event will feature carnival-style games, make your own crafts, food, friendly competition and raffles.

“THE KING AND I”

Where/When: The Paris Cabaret, 49 Monk St., Stoughton; March 26, 27, April 1, 2 and 3. Evening shows (March 26, April 1 and 2) begin at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees (March 27 and April 3) begin at 1 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy dinner and a great performance! For reservations call 781-297-SHOW (7469).

Pricing: There is a $10 prepaid show charge per person, plus the purchase of a dinner entree (from $12.95 to $21.95).

 

“MAN OF LA MANCHA”

Where/When: Mansfield Music and Arts Society, Black Box Theater, 377 N. Main St, Mansfield; March 26, 26, 31, April 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9. Performance are Friday, Saturday and Thursday at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees 2 p.m.

Why Go: This Tony Award Winning Musical stars the MMAS executive director, Ken Butler as Cervantes - Don Quixote. The theater is very intimate. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly suggested. For more information call 508-339-2822

Pricing: $22 general admission, $20 seniors, $18 students.

 

WINE TASTING

Where/When: Mansfield Music and Arts Society, Black Box Theater, 377 N Main St, Mansfield; Saturday, March 26, 4 to 6 p.m.

Why Go: This wine tasting by is in conjunction with an Artist's Opening that evening called "Abstractions.” Taste some wine and browse the art gallery! For more information visit www.mmas.org.

 

KARAOKE

Where/When: , 184 W. Main St., Sunday, March 27, 8 p.m.
