Sabatino's Trattoria Settles on Opening Date

Restaurant obtained common victualler's license from selectmen Thursday.

After months of postponing, Rico Ferrera, the building owner of Sabatino’s Trattoria, announced that the Italian restaurant is scheduled to open Nov. 1.

The restaurant was originally supposed to open in April.

Ferrera came before the Board of Selectmen Thursday night to obtain a common victualler’s license, which they approved. Food service establishments with capabilities for cooking, preparing and serving food is required to have a  this license.The restaurant has also had an alcohol license for a year and a half.

Sabatino's Trattoria, an Italian restaurant co-owned by mother and daughter duo Siorentina and Melinda Ferrera, is located at 111 W. Main St., Norton. It will feature brick oven pizzas and fresh homemade pastas on their menu.

"That's basically our goal is just to stick with the authenticity of Italy," Melinda said, adding, "We're just going to be very laid back. We're family oriented."
