1. Today there is a 40 percent chance of scattered showers, mainly before 3 p.m. It will be cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 54. West wind will be between 7 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 31. West wind will be between 3 and 9 mph.

2. Ex Boston Celtic, Chris Herren, who lost his career to drug addiction, will address students at Norton High School 9 a.m. in the school auditorium.  The event is sponsored by both Norton police unions (Norton Police Association and Norton Police Superior Officers Association) along with various donations through the Norton High School.

3. Uli Jon Roth & Leslie West with The Golden Ghosts will play at Patriots Place 6 p.m. They are known for their work in their respective bands Roth in the Scorpions and West in Mountain. Tickets are $20 and can be found here.

4. Last year’s 300th Birthday Picnic left area residents wishing it was an annual event. That wish has come true. Find out more here.

5. There's a new trend in some public schools, in which students are refrained from wearing “celebratory clothing;” clothes, buttons, t-shirts and the like, which are given to kids who attend birthday parties or other celebrations. Read at 9 a.m.
