NORTON PARKS & RECREATION: Thank you (Festival of Lights 12.01.2013)

On behalf of the Norton Parks & Recreation Department, we would like to thank the community for coming out in the pouring rain this past Sunday night for our 5th Annual Festival of Lights. Everyone still seemed to have a great time despite the weather… it just goes to show, you can’t dampen Norton’s holiday spirit!

We would also like to thank our sponsor, North Easton Savings Bank. They continue to sponsor this event year after year, and without their support, this event would not be possible.

Also a big thank you to Santa and Mrs. Claus; Bob Kimball, Master of Ceremonies; Tim Brown, singer; The Norton Singers; Rev. Bernie Hinkley of the Trinitarian Church; The Chartley Garden Club for making the swags along the railing of the Town Common; Junior Troop 80046 and their leader Nancy Entwistle for serving as Santa’s elves; Orsi Photography; the Norton Community Lions Club; the Norton Fire Department; the Norton Police Department and the Norton Highway Department. Each of you played an integral part in making our soggy celebration special and we are truly grateful.

For anyone that missed the event, letters to Santa can still be left in the mail slot of the Santa house on the Town Common until December 20th. A personalized letter will be mailed back to your child and we ask for a $3 per family donation.

Please be sure to check our website www.nortonparksandrec.com for upcoming events.
