The Norton Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank the entire community for coming out and supporting the 21st annual Chartley Halloween Parade. This year, the parade’s 21st anniversary, was another huge success! First and foremost, we have to thank Ribeiro Enterprises and Norton Media Center for sponsoring the parade, so that we can continue with this wonderful tradition. We would also like to thank the Norton Police and Fire Departments, the Norton Honor Guard, and the Norton Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for all of their help. In addition, thank you to the Attleboro and Plainville Police and the Berkley and Rehoboth Fire Departments, and the Bristol County Sheriff’s Department, the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Amateur Radio Club, the Norton Board of Selectmen, Town Manager Mike Yunits, Senator Jim Timilty, Representatives Steven Howitt and Jay Barrows; and our popularly-elected honorary “Mayor of Norton,” Steve Bishop (Men of Many Hats) for coming out to support our community and this event.
This year, we had more than 53 floats/walkers in attendance, making this our biggest Halloween parade ever! We would like to thank all of our participants for making our parade the success that it was. Each group put a lot of effort and creativity into their floats (whether riding or walking) and we appreciate all of their hard work.
