Norton Youths in Un-Common Production of 'Willy Wonka'

Shows run this weekend.

The Un-Common Theatre Company at the Orpheum Theatre, Foxborough is presenting a family production of Roald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka” this weekend.

With a cast of 55 local actors, including Norton’s Elizabeth Riley (Cook/Ensemble) and Abby Sitte (Violet Beauregarde), Un-Common Theatre brings this delicious tale to life on stage. The adventure explores Roald Dahl’s story of the world-famous Candy Man and his quest to find an heir.  Willy Wonka stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars.  Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences.

This show features the songs from the timeless family film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” including “The Candy Man,” “Pure Imagination,” “I Want it Now!” and “I’ve got a Golden Ticket.”

Tickets are available for Friday, Nov. 16, 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18, 2 p.m. shows.
