STORM CENTER: Major Winter Storm Shuts Down Norton

We'll update you of cancellations, closings and delays throughout the storm.

Wednesday 8:30 a.m.:

  • The Norton rail trail public meeting originally scheduled for last night will be rescheduled for a time in February.

6:25 p.m.:

4:30 p.m.:

  • Meetings at Norton Town Offices have been cancelled tonight including: the Bristol County Emergency Preparedness Committee, the Housing Authority, the Water Sewer Commission and the Planning Board.

2:15 p.m.:
Norton High School basketball games have been rescheduled to the following times:
  • Boys:   JV @ 3:30pm  Varsity @ 5:00pm at Home.
  • Girls:  JV @ 3:30pm Varsity @ 5:00 at Medfield High School. Girls bus is leaving at 2:15.
  • Freshman basketball game has been postponed.

10:15 a.m.:

  • The Wheaton College double dual meet against WPI and UMass Dartmouth has been postponed due to inclement weather. No make up date has been determined at this time.

Tuesday 9 a.m.:


A winter storm warning has been issued in the Norton area by the National Weather Service. The Service issued a winter storm warning Monday afternoon for a 24-hour period from 1 p.m. Tuesday through 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The warning was issued at 3:58 p.m. on Monday.
