Norton Wants to Retry Solar Power at Landfill

Norton selectman Robert Kimball said on Thursday that he received a letter from a solar company that wishes to build a solar generating area at the landfill.

Kimball said that the monies obtained for the town over a 20-year period would equal $5M with this particular company’s planned claim.

Norton town manager Michael Yunits said the town had tried this before and the company on which they placed the bid never even started, and the town would be better served if they sent out a request for qualifications rather than a request for a proposal bid.

Milo the Dog Euthanized  

After biting a second person last weekend, Milo the dog was euthanized during the afternoon of March 4, according to animal control officer Jeff Collins.



The teenager suffered serious injuries to her face but her current condition is unknown.

A 15-year-old Attleboro male was arraigned Thursday in Taunton Juvenile Court for attempted murder and various other charges after he stabbed, attempted to drown and attempted to kill by asphyxiation a 63-year-old female neighbor Wednesday night, Attleboro police reported. The victim was at Rhode Island Hospital as of Thursday, and her injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to the police.
