Parks and Rec Prepare for Festival of Lights

Chance for children to meet Santa.

The Norton Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for the annual Festival of Lights, which will be held 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

The holiday celebration will take place in the Town Common. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by fire truck and meet the children in Santa’s house for pictures. There will also be Christmas carols, hot chocolate and cookies. New this year is a craft station.

Children will also be able to leave their letters to Santa in a mailbox and then will receive a personalized letter back.

Memorial Lights purchased from the Norton Community Lions Club will also be lit on the Common Christmas tree in memory of loved ones. In addition to each name being posted next to the tree, they will also be read aloud during the festival.
