Menorah Parade Meanders Through North Shore

Dozens of cars topped with menorahs made their way through the North Shore in a parade in celebration of Chanukah.

More than 80 cars made their way through multiple North Shore towns Sunday in a Chanukah parade that made its way across the North Shore and down to the East Side of Milwaukee.

The parade began with a public menorah lighting at Pick 'n Save in Glendale. The group met with the Chabad of Mequon at the Metro Market in Mequon, then joined the Milwaukee group and continued along Lake Drive south to the East Side of Milwaukee along Farwell and Prospect Avenues, Wisconsin and Cass Streets, Michigan Street and on to Lincoln Memorial Drive. The parade concluded at Bayshore Mall.

Rows and rows of cars  with menorahs strapped to their roofs made the parking lot sparkle at one of the stops, the Radisson Milwaukee North Shore Hotel, 7065 North Port Washington Road. When everyone arrived, there was an official menorah lighting ceremony complete with a prayer. About 15 men and boys chanted and danced around the largest menorah, smiling and holding hands.

This is an annual event was organized by Chabad Lubavitch of Wisconsin.
