Festival of Lights Set for Sunday

Letters to Santa being accepted.

The holidays wouldn’t be the same without the annual Festival of Lights on the Norton Town Common to take place this Sunday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.

Like last year, the Norton Singers and Tim Brown will be singing carols to get visitors in the holiday spirit. There will also be hot cocoa, cookies. The highlight of the evening will be the arrival of Santa Claus by fire truck and the lighting of the Town Common. Afterward, children are encouraged to have their photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Clause in Santa’s house for $3 per family.

Kids can also let Santa know what they’d like for Christmas in a letter and receive a personalized letter from him in return. No child will be denied a letter, but a $3 donation is requested to support the administrative costs of this program. Donations and forms can accompany the letter. The form is attached to this article and can be found on the Norton Parks and Recreation website. They will also be available at the Festival of Lights. Children can drop off the letter at the Santa house located in the Common through Dec. 20.

Sponsors of this event are Roche Bros., North Easton Savings Bank and Honey Dew Donuts.
