Big Trucks, Jazz and a Rooftop Party are on Hand this Weekend in and Around Norton!

Touch-A-Truck Picnic:
Get an up-close look at some really big vehicles! On Friday, Aug, 16, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., the Norton truck convoy will be at the Norton Public Library, 68 East Main St. Check out a fire truck, school bus and real construction trucks. There will also be balloon animals and face painting.

Babysitting Resource/Enjoy a Night Out:

A new Facebook page was created entitled, 'Norton Area Babysitting and Child Care." It was started as a local source for parents to post babysitting or childcare needs or for providers to offer their services. Check out this site today, research a few potential sitters and make reservations for a child-free night this weekend!

Pianist and singer Jack Craig will be performing at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Norton on Friday, Aug. 16, 1:30 p.m. Craig's shows are always unique with his eclectic musical sounds of favorite Latin American songs and music from Cole Porter and Irving Berlin. This delightful park offers a variety of recreational activities that will keep the family entertained for the entire day! It is the home of the Norton Town Pool and also includes a playground, basketball court, baseball field, volleyball net, horseshoe pit, restrooms and free parking. The pool is open Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., through Labor Day. For more information on pool passes, call 508-285-2773. Yard Sale:

The popular HGTV series 'Flee Market Flip' has inspired many "novice flippers" to transform yard sale finds into unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Visit this Norton yard sale, at 1 Arrowhead Dr., on Saturday, Aug. 17, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., and create a new original item at a fraction of the cost.

Rooftop Party:

The Attleboro YMCA is hosting a fabulous rooftop party as an annual fundraiser for the Best Friends Campaign. The event will be held on Saturday, Aug.  17, 7-11 p.m., and will include live music by the James Foster Jazz Band and Suncooked,, a silent auction, a raw bar and dinner prepared by Matt Haist, Executive Chef of The Capital Grille, in Providence. The $50 ticket includes dinner, beer and wine and dancing.
