2. Library events
Come to Norton Public Library for Small Singers and Shakers 10:30 a.m. Sing, dance and make music with local musician and instructor Stacy Lake. The Knot Just Knitting Club will meet 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wrapping things up is the Afternoon Book Discussion Group at 4 p.m. This month's selection is "Moon Tide" by Dawn Clifton Tripp.

3. Audition workshop
Uncommon Theatre announces an audition workshop 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Orpheum Theatre, Foxborough for those in grades 2 through adult. Workshop fee is $25 per person. 4. Norton Reservoir cleanup volunteers wanted
Norton Kayak Company, Inc. and Wheaton College are sponsoring the 2012 Norton Reservoir Shoreline and Island Clean-up Day Saturday, September 8. Business owners located around the Reservoir are being encouraged to re-adopt their own shorelines and open up their dumpsters to volunteers. Local businesses, community organizations, boat owners and residents of Norton are being asked to pitch in by cleaning up the common areas of shoreline. Trash bags will be provided for those who participate. They can be picked up and dropped off at the Norton Kayak Company launch located at 237 Mansfield Ave., behind the Norton Park and Recreation Center. 5. Occupational Health Services available
Occupational Health Service (OHS) at Sturdy Memorial Hospital offers services specific to company and regulatory requirements including pre-employment physical exams, drug/alcohol testing, audiograms, medical surveillance, medical treatment of an injured employee to get them back to work as quickly as possible, and preparation for international business travel.
