1. Rabies clinic
Nine Lives of Norton Feline Rescue Shelter is holding a Rabies Clinic 10 to 11 a.m. at Norton Fire Department. Cats must be in carriers and dogs on a leash or in a carrier. The cost of the rabies vaccination is $13. For more information call 508-285-5159.

2. Mary Maguire Band performance
A musical performance by The Mary Maguire Band will be held at Rose Garden Coffeehouse at Congregational Church, 17 West St., Mansfield. Enjoy contemporary folk, bluegrass and jazzy swing. Doors open 7:30 p.m. with an 8 p.m. start. Tickets are $16 and are available www.rosegardenfolk.com or at the door.

3. Reality series casting
An open casting call will be held at Jillians, 3 Lansdown St., Boston 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a new reality series on TNT "The Hero" with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Win up to hundreds of thousands of dollars by proving yourself in the physical and mental adventure of a lifetime. Anyone interested should be 21 years of age by January 2013, have a valid passport and be willing to travel outside the United States for a 3 week adventure. Everyone must bring a recent photo to the open call.

4. Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes
Over 4,000 people will get together to Stop Diabetes for the nearly 26 million American children and adults with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes and their families, friends, colleagues and caregivers. Walkers secure donations from family members, friends, coworkers and neighbors. These proceeds benefit the Association, which funds diabetes research, delivers services to hundreds of communities, and gives voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes. The walk will begin at the Boston Common. Registration begins 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m. To register, volunteer or for more information, visit diabetes.org/stepoutboston or call 1-888-DIABETES.

5. High near 73, low around 45
Today there is a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 7 a.m. Patchy fog is expected before 11 a.m. Otherwise, it will be cloudy through mid morning, then will gradually clear with a high near 73. Light south wind will become southwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 45. Southwest wind will be 5 to 8 mph.
