4. World Menopause Day
To increase awareness, today has been designated World Menopause Day by the World Health Organization (WHO) in conjunction with the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). Menopause affects a woman’s quality of life and puts her at increased risk for osteoporosis, breast cancer, heart disease and stroke. It is important for women to understand the various aspects of menopause, how to treat and alleviate symptoms, and how to reduce the risk of disease. The best way is to speak with your gynecologist or primary care physician to get factual information about options available. Looking for a doctor?
