1. Thanksgiving dinner for veterans and seniors signup deadline
Today is the signup deadline for a free Thanksgiving dinner. If you, a Norton senior or veteran you know needs a free, individual Thanksgiving dinner, contact Stephanie Schwartz at 617-694-3101 or bsschwartz@yahoo.com. You may also call the Veterans’ Services Office at 508-285-0218 to recommend someone and arrangements will be made. Deliveries will be coordinated between the recipient and a volunteer.

2. Fall book sale
Friends of Norton Public Library is holding a fall book sale through Nov. 10. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Saturday you can fill a bag for $3. Annual Memberships may be purchased at the sale:

3. Flag dedication ceremony
The Arc is holding a special Flag Dedication Ceremony at 141 Park St, Attleboro at 10 a.m., which honors a young man with disabilities, the service of veterans and the generosity of a wide community. Michael Silva of Taunton passed away on Memorial Day of 2009 at 27 years of age. Michael was a member of The Arc community.

4. The Bit Players comedy troupe show
The Bit Players, Rhode Island’s Best Comedy Troupe as voted by Motif Magazine, Best Comedy Night by The Phoenix and winner of the Providence Improv Fest's Local Blowout, performs their high-energy, fast-paced improvisation for audiences every Friday and Saturday 8 p.m. at The Firehouse Theater, 4 Equality Park Place, Newport. Tickets are $15. This event is BYOB  and Saturday nights usually are sold out: so make reservations by calling 401-849-FIRE.

5. High near 49, low around 33
Today will be sunny, with a high near 49. Northwest wind will be 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 33. West wind will be around 6 mph.
