1. Holiday bazaar
Stop by the annual bazaar at EPOCH of Norton this weekend and get all of your holiday shopping done. The event will take place Friday at the Senior Healthcare community and on Saturday at the Assisted Living community. In addition to a home-made baked goods table and a raffle both days, this fair will feature women’s clothing, jewelry, Mary Kay merchandise, seasonal wreaths, hand-crafted kitchen knick knacks, holiday blankets, decorations, purses, cigar boxes, Christmas trees and more. 2. Silk Road performance
Enjoy the sweet sounds of Silk Road at McMahon’s Countryside Grille, 336 Old Colony Road, Norton. This free show starts at 9 p.m.

3. Beer tasting
Landry Liquors, 134 Central Ave., Seekonk, is holding a free beer tasting and pairing at 4 p.m. All are welcome.

4. Cancer facts and tips to reduce the risk
More than an estimated 160,000 people in the United States will die from lung cancer this year, making it the country’s leading cause of cancer death. According to the National Cancer Institute, it surpassed breast cancer as the number one killer in women back in 1987. It causes more deaths than colon, breast and prostate cancer combined, according to the American Lung Association. Bruce Johnson, MD, the director of the Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, sorts out the facts about lung cancer and offers simple ways to reduce risk.

-Avoid triggers (get rid of cigarettes and ashtrays).
-Exercise to reduce cravings.
-Follow the Four D’s – Deep breaths, Drink lots of water, Do something to avoid cravings, Delay reaching for a cigarette, the urge will pass.
